MORTICIAの1st clueが昨日の夕方に届きました。
時差があるので、仕事が終わった頃に受け取れて逆に良かったです。
仕事中に受け取っちゃったら仕事が手につかなくなっていた気がするもの。

I got 1st clue of MORTICIA in the evening on 1st October because the time difference between Japan and England is 9 hours. It was nice for me. If I got it during business hours, I couldn't work in earnest.  

帰り道でチェックした感じだと、1st clueは私でも普通に編める感じでした。
本やネットの世界を徘徊しなくても編めそうなものは久し振りです。
…初心者はとにかく編み方のリサーチに相当時間がかかるからね。。。

As checking it on the way home, I thought that I would knit it without problems. I didn't have gotten such a pattern in a long time, so I was very releaved♪ To search  & understand how to knit an unexperienced stitch through the internet or a pile of books is very heavy for beginners and it needs a lot of time... :'-( 
　

なーんて思っていたら、甘かった！
よくよく読んだらビーズはnot prestring＝糸に通さず編みながら入れていくんだそうな。
…やり方知りませんよ～Σ（￣皿￣;

However my thinking was tooooo optimistic! I noticed that beads were not PRESTRING. Needless to say, I don't know how to be embed beads as knitting... :-()  

てかこの前のMayan Gardenで初めてビーズ使った位だし。。。
あ。今回はこんなビーズを使う予定です。
最初はブルーグレーのビーズが希望だったんだけどこのメタリックローズに一目ぼれ。

Before everything else, my experience of beading was only the previous completing project.  
BTW, I will use beads in below though I hoped blue-gray beads first. The color is very attractive pale metaric rose.

 

実は…Mayan Gardenのときは既に結構編んじゃった後にビーズを使うことを思いだし、
なんとかならないものかと「編みながらビーズを通す」方法を探したの。
でも見つけられなくてねー。
結局ビーズ初登場の段の手前まで戻って糸を切ってビーズを通しましたよ。

Resume the thread. At that project, I noticed to use beads after having went ahead to a certain degree, so I serched how to embed beads as knitting. But I didn't find it at that time... Therefore I cut a yarn and strung beads in the end.

しかしながら、Booさんは
「『編みながらビーズを通す』から最初に通しておく必要ないわよ～」
なんて書いてらっしゃりますのです、ハイ。

And now, Boo wrote that beads should not be prestring in the 1st clue.

…モチベーション沈下とともに途方に暮れること1時間。
DVD（メンタリスト season2）を見てリフレッシュすること2時間。
延べ3時間後にようやく調べる気力を取り戻したところ、
遂に編むタイミングでビーズを通す方法を説明している動画を発見しました～☆
もーMayan Gardenのときに知りたかったわ～！

I had lost my willing...I had got depressed for a hour, had watched DVD of "the Mentalist 2nd season" for 2 hours. After that, I recoverd my motivation and serched how to knit beads as knitting through YouTube, then I have just find it in below!! Ahh..., I hope I found it when I had tried Mayan Garden!



でも、これさえ突破しちゃえば1st clue自体はそんなにボリュームがないので
結構余裕を持って編めてしまいそうです。私も既に半分終わっちゃってます。
1st clueが終わったらVitamin Dに戻らなきゃね。

But you might be able to finish the 1st clue in less than a week if you master to string beads as knitting. I also finished a half of the clue already. I want to use a rest time for Vitamin D after when I come to close the 1st clue;)

Vitamin Dですが、やっとW&T地獄から抜け出せたようです。
覚えちゃえば早いかも。

I finihed the 1st & 2nd W&T. Before I understand how to knit the W&T, I felt that knitting these parts as if I was  in a hell. But, After mastering it, I thought these are easy and I could go them smoothly.

随分育ってきたわ～♪

Upper photo is my work of the point in time when the 1st W&T finished. Below is the same point in time when the 2nd done. It have grown up bigger and bigger!

もーちょっと！！

Boo KnitsさんのハロウィーンMKALのプロジェクトを開始することにしました。
実は「アダムス・ファミリー」好きだったので、
プレースホルダ―の写真を一目見て編むこと決めたという位すごく安易にスタートです。

I started a project of the Halloween MKAL by Boo Knits. I decided to join a member of this MKAL when I looked at the placeholder.

見たときに（これ、絶対お母さんでしょ？）と思ったんだけど
ショールの名前のモーティシア＝お母さんの名前だったのでまさにビンゴ。
…やっぱりこの方、キモ美しいな～♪

I wondered whether a lady of the placeholder photo was Mother at ‘the Adams Family’ or not, but I knew that ‘Morticia’ was her name and my question’s answer was YES. I feel she is beautiful even thoug spooky.



　

でもって糸はThe Natural Dye StudioのDAZZLING 2ply lace yarnにしました。
上の紫のがBlackmoor Gate、下の青いのがWatersmeet。
どっちも購入前にネットで色を調べた際にはもっと薄くて暗めの色だったんだけど
多分、鮮やかに染まったロットなんだろうなぁ。こっちの色のほうが好きだから良かった♪
今回はBlackmoor Gateのほうを使います。
…dyeforwoolはすぐに発送してくれたんだけど、到着に1か月以上かかるそうな。
相変わらず読みが甘くて自分のことながら残念です。。。

And I finally decided to start the MKAL with a DAZZLING 2ply lace yarn of The Natural Dye Studio. Upper yarn's name is "Blackmoor Gate" and below's is "Watersmeet". When I searched these yarn's info through the internet before I bought, these looked more darkly pale color. Maybe my yarn’s lot would dye vividly and I like these color more. I am going to knit a shawl using "Blackmoor Gate".

 

Booさん曰く、
「このショールはハロウィーン用なので今年のハロウィーンパーティに使ってね♪」
とのこと。だから暗めの色を推奨されてます。
が、日本ではハロウィーンパーティはまだ一般的じゃないし好きな色使わせてもらいます。
ごめんね、Booさん。

Boo Knits wrote that this shawl was for Halloween and wanted that participants select a suitable color for the Halloween party in her introduction. Unfortunately, the Halloween party is not common in Japan. Therefore I want to enjoy knitting with a yarn in above. Sorry Boo-san.

と、ここまで書いてアレですが、実際にClue1が届くのは10月1日の予定。
今の時点ではまだ前置きしか入手していません。
でもこれがハロウィーン感満載で、不気味なんだけど可愛いフォントなの。
その前置きを読んでみてBooさん自身がMKALを楽しもうとする気持ちが伝わってきました。

1st clue is released by 1st Oct, so I have only gotton an introduction which is written with a funny spooky lovely font now. In the introduction, I fell that Boo-san values and enjoy a atmosphere of the Halloween ‘Mystery’ KAL.

私もそれに従ってMKAL期間が終わる10月31日までは
全体のデザインが分かる写真は公開しないで部分部分の写真をアップするつもりです。
10月になるのが待ち遠しいなぁ♪

I want to keep her rules for the MKAL until 31th Oct. I will update my progress photos to my blog, but these will be not a whole of shawl but a piece of it. I cannot be waiting for October coming♪

Mayan Garden完成のために放置していたVitamin D。
再開したものの、残念なことに間違いを見つけて
1st W&Tと呼ばれる最初の難所を既に4回も編み直ししてたりします…。

After finishing Mayan Garden, I restarted Vitamin D. I heard that Japanese knitters are not familiar with the W&T. So most of them feel it is difficult. As is usual with me, I already retried 1st W&T 4 times.


おそらくだけど、Atrier Knitsさんの編み図は
きっとHeidiさんのパターンの直訳に近い状態なのかな？
丁寧すぎて返って混乱しているかも。。。
単に私の力量不足が原因なんだけど、
さすがにもうこれ以上やりなおしたくないので、ネットでいろいろ調べました。

I bought a pattern which is translated to Japanese by Atrier Knits and suppose that its contents is very close to the original one. Sometimes English patterns have been confusing me to understand how to knit and serched other blogger's posts about Vitamin D.

そしたら、みぃさんのブログで素敵な記事を見つけました。
このチャートがなかったら、きっと目数を間違えたまま先に進んでました。
どうもありがとうございます、みぃさん！！

A Link on the right side is Mi-'s blog. There are charts of the 1st & 2nd W&T. Thank you, Mi-san!! I really wanted to get them!! I might progress & finish the project with many error if I didn't find that chart...awful!!

あと、昨日の夜にようやく見つけたこの動画。
これ見て私のラップ目が間違っていたことに気付いてしまって
寝る前に1st W&Tの編み始めまで戻りました。。。

And I found below YouTube yesterday night. I returned to a start row of 1st W&T before sleeping. 


 
でもなんとか明日には1st W&Tは終わりそう。長かったわ～。。。
そういえば、W&Tはとっつきにくいけど、覚えれば簡単とも言われてたっけ。
確かにそうかも。
However I feel that I would finish 1st W&T until tomorrow. It's a long time to finish it... And I remembered vaguely that W&T is inaccessible but is easy if you learning. Now I think so.

やっと1つ終わったので、次の準備。
まずは毛糸。
今度のMKALは極細（＝2ply）の毛糸で800m/100gが推奨の毛糸だったりします。
ついでに言うなら絹50%の様子。うーむ。。。

As I finished a project, I prepared next one. Next project needs 2ply lace yarn. The designer recommends a yarn which has length of 800m per 100g and color of dark tone because the shawl is for Halloween. But Halloween is not  in Japan...

実はこの2週間程ずーっと悩んでました。
ておりやにするか、dyeforyarnにするか、きんしょうにするか。
この3つのうちどれかにするのは早い時点で決まっていたんだけどねー。

I dicided ealry that candidate's yarns were Teori-ya, dyeforyarn and Kinsho, but I could't decide to which yarn I use for next MKAL for 2 weeks.

(でもdyeforyarnさんはドイツですよ？)
(今はヤーナホリックさんでも品切れですよ？)
(でもってEtsyなるもので海外通販ですよ？)
(…うーん、通販障壁が高くない？？送料も高そうじゃない？？)
と、？だらけなんだけど、かなり前からdyeforyarnは気になっていて
心の声でもかなり優勢だったのです。

I wanted to buy dyeforyarn's. However that had some problem for me. You know, my English is poor but Dyeforyarn is a shop in Garmany. Sometimes its yarns are sold in 'Yarnaholic'. But now these are sold-out. Therefore I need to order them through Etsy using English if I want to get them. Furthermore I have never use that service and have supposed that a transit charge is more expensive.

で、Mayan Gardenが終わってからゆっくり比較してみたところ
実はかせ数次第では、送料はさほどかからないが判明。
そして通販障壁は結局のところ自力で超えるしかないでしょ、という結論になりました。

After completing Mayan Garden, I compared with each merit and demerit of these shops.

そんなわけで、今回はdyeforwoolさんで購入することにしました。あれ？
そう、yarnじゃなくてwool。。。

Finally, I decided to buy yarns from dyeforwool, not dyeforyarn. 

実はお店側ではdyeforyarnは絹糸、woolは毛糸と分けて管理されてまして。
毛の量が増えるとwool側で取り扱っているようです。

I did't know the shop owner has divided and managed yarns according to the ratio of raw material; dyeforyarn treets silk yarn and dyeforwool does wool yarn.

長々と書いてきたけど、
Opening Pandra's boxとDying roseのベビパカ＆シルクの毛糸を1かせずつ購入しました。
2ply指定のショールなら1かせで編める分量になっているのでこれで2枚は編めるはず。

Although the introduction became long,I finally bought baby 2 skain which 30% salpaka yarns and 70% silk. One is named 'Opening Pandra's box', the other is 'Dying rose'. I think I will knit 2 shawls by these yarns.

何も問題が起きなければ1週間位で届いてくると思うので
手元に届いたらご報告しますね（＾＾）

A parcel will reach in about a week, I think. I will up these photes after receiving. 

あ。Mayan Gardenと並行して編んでいるVitamin Dですが…。
引き返し編み部分で間違いに気づいてラーメンを大量生産してしまいました。
引き返し編みの序盤戦で気付いてよかった～。

And my 'Vitamin D' project's present progress is... I found some mistake unfortunately and made a pile of 'noodle'. However I'm lucky that I noticed that at an early stage.
